Company Profile
We are Fire Life Safety (FLS) specialists passionate about safety always and not just safety first. We provide FLS guidance, design review and approvals (sign-offs) for both passive and active aspects of fire safety. Sign-offs are offered during planning, schematic design, detailed design, construction, commissioning and property management (Fire Safety Training) stages. We cover all 6 layers of fire safety (Prevention-Compartmentation-Detection-Evacuation-Suppression-Structural Resistance). We can match NFPA 101, the general ADB(1/2) guidance, the risk-based guidance of BS9991/9 and the Kenyan building code. Our Fire safety interventions are ESG, IFC EDGE, LEEDS and WELL compliant.
Other than the guidance-based codes mentioned above, We also carry out advanced performance based Fire engineering design (NFPA 101[5] or BS7974). As Fire Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling experts, we specialize in smoke control modeling using the validated and renowned platform FDS. We also perform Egress modeling as we strive to ensure the safe evacuation in the event of a fire incidence. Following computational modeling results, we are able to determine both the ASET and RSET of a simulated building on fire, in order to prescribe the safest, most efficient and cost effective solutions (vents, fans etc) for smoke control and management, whether naturally or mechanically. We will work with the local AHJ to ensure compliance.
Fire risk assessment of water-based protection systems, premised on NFPA 25 and BS EN 12845, and clean agent systems premised on BS EN 15004-1 or NFPA 2001 forms part of our work. By interpreting graphical outputs of fire pumps performance testing, we are able to determine the cause of poor pump performance in accordance with NFPA 20.
Do you need to extend travel distances within common corridors? Do you need to determine the impact of smoke within atria, known for compartmentation difficulties? lf you are unsure whether disproportionate cooling and smoke mixing downwards may occur in the atrium, or your building has a facade and you are concerned about cold downdrafts that may exist, then get in touch because our Performance Based approach may be just what you need. Our most recent work was done for clients in the banking and hospitality sectors. We will also produce for our clients cost effective Fire Safety Strategic (FSS) reports that are aligned with prevailing codes. Timely delivery of projects is a key plank of what drives us.
